Chestnut Ridge Elementary Academic Spotlight

Our first grade students completed a cross-curricular project on apples this month. Students incorporated science by examining the physical properties of apples. In ELA, students read stories about apples, then combined their writing skills and using their senses to create descriptions of apples. Some of our classes even made (and sampled) apple sauce! The students enjoyed learning about this tasty fruit and its importance to our local economy.
